CNC Routing

Outsourced CNC routing for trade and commercial customers

If your own workshop is at capacity, or a job needs machining you do not have the plant for, we run it for you. Zenith Manufacturing is a CNC wood machining business in Dunleer, Co. Louth, and almost all of our work is for other businesses: kitchen manufacturers, cabinet makers, joinery companies, furniture manufacturers and commercial fit-out contractors.

You send the drawing or the cutting list. We machine the parts to it, and they come back ready to assemble or install. Once a job has been programmed, repeat runs come off the same file, so the part you ordered last quarter is the same part this quarter.

Capability

What we machine

We work in sheet and panel materials, and the work usually falls into four operations. Most orders use more than one of them.

  • Panel cutting. Sheets cut to size and squared on the beam saw, ready for onward machining or assembly.
  • CNC routing. Profiling, shaped edges, cut-outs, grooves, slots and recesses routed directly from your file.
  • Drilling. Hinge, shelf, dowel and system holes put in position as part of the same programme, rather than marked out by hand afterwards.
  • Edge banding and profiling. Exposed edges banded and finished so the component is ready to use.

A kitchen door order is a good example: the same part is cut, routed, drilled and edged before it leaves the workshop. If you have a specific board type or finish in mind, ask us before you order and we will tell you whether we can machine it.

Technology

The machines behind the work

Panel cutting runs on a HOMAG SAWTEQ S-100 beam saw. Profiling and drilling run on a CNC router with vacuum hold-down tables and an automatic tool changer, and exposed edges are finished on the edgebander. Cutting files are prepared in CAD/CAM and posted to the machines as G-code, and the workshop runs dust extraction throughout.

What that combination means in practice is that a panel can be cut, routed, drilled and edged without leaving the building, and without being set up and re-referenced by hand on three separate machines.

Ordering

How to get a quote

  1. Send the drawing. A technical drawing, a specification or a cutting list is enough for us to price the job. Tell us the material and the quantity.
  2. We quote. Once you approve the quotation, the order is confirmed.
  3. We programme and schedule. Your design is turned into CAD/CAM files and the G-code the machines run from, and the job is scheduled.
  4. We machine and check. Parts are cut, routed, drilled and edged, and checked against the agreed specification.
  5. We package and despatch. Finished parts are packed and clearly labelled for delivery.

Questions

Common questions from trade customers

Do you work for other manufacturers, or only for end customers?
Almost all of our work is trade. Kitchen manufacturers, cabinet makers, joinery companies, furniture makers and fit-out contractors are our normal customers, and we are used to working to someone else’s drawing and someone else’s programme.

What do you need from me to quote?
A technical drawing, a specification or a cutting list, along with the material and quantity. We turn that into CAD/CAM files and machine code in house. If you are not certain your drawing carries enough information, send it over and we will tell you.

Can you run repeat batches?
Yes. Once a part has been programmed it can be run again from the same file, so a repeat order matches the original rather than being set out again from scratch.

Do you make finished kitchen doors as well as components?
Yes. Kitchen doors and cabinetry components are a core part of what we make, in shaker style and flat panel. You can see examples in our gallery and the full list on our services page.

Where are you based?
Unit 1, Rathgory, Dunleer, Co. Louth, A92 FK20. Full details are on our contact page.
